Rental operations (pickup profile + walkaround)
The pickup wizard ships with three variants. Pick the one that matches how you actually hand keys to customers.
Where: Settings → Operations → Rental operations
Pickup profile
Standard (default)
Full flow:
- Verify reservation
- Walkaround photos (6-8 angles)
- Mileage & fuel
- Documents ready
- Sign contract
- Hold deposit
- Collect payment
- Confirm pickup
For rental-first shops where the vehicle is the product.
Quick (express counter)
Skips walkaround, captures minimal readings. Best for high-volume rental counters where staff is shoulder-to-shoulder with the customer and a structured walkaround would slow throughput.
Body shop (RO loaner)
Skips walkaround AND the detailed readings step. Designed for collision shops handing a loaner alongside an open repair order — the loaner is your fleet’s normal asset, not an event-worthy transaction.
Walkaround toggle
Independent of profile (mostly). Only adjustable when profile is Standard — Quick and Body shop both force walkaround off regardless of the toggle.
When walkaround is on:
- The walkaround step renders with your tenant-configured angle set (see Walkaround photo requirements)
- Staff captures each required angle before advancing
- Photos upload to your shop’s R2 bucket and persist on the rental record
When walkaround is off:
- The wizard skips the step
- The rental row is stamped
walkaround_skipped: truefor the audit trail - The contract renders “Walkaround not performed” in the relevant variable slot
What changes after you save
Effective immediately on the next rental pickup. Existing in-flight rentals (mid-wizard) are not affected.
